Product information:

This set is a cyclone oil separator. This works as follows: the vapors from the crankcase ventilation are directed into the side of the container. By hitting the side wall of the container and rotating, the oil film collects on the inside, flows down and is returned directly to the crankcase (this means the container does not need to be emptied). The remaining excess pressure can escape upwards through the intake -Y. When using the THE - oil catch can kit, the original hoses with T-connection (which are usually porous or broken) are replaced. On cars with secondary air system the secondary air pump must be removed, because this space is needed for the oil catch can kit. Suitable plugs can be found under our products (Art. No. THE-B5 003 00). The small silicone hose is responsible for the exhaust air of the N75 valve. This can be mounted at the original position of the valve. The stainless steel holder of the tank is screwed along with the intake manifold on the left rear. The original screws can still be used.

Additional information:

  • The set contains two hoses - one for the S4 and one for the RS4 intake-Y (see picture). The respective hose is the connection between Y and pressure control valve (see pictures).
  • Beim S4 entfällt die Leitung zum F-Schlauch. Der F-Schlauch kann mit THE- Angle hose to check valve for activated carbon tank ersetzt werden.
  • The pressure control valve is not included in this set. The original can be used or a new one can be ordered directly from us.
  • In order to create better space and to eliminate sources of error / leaks, we recommend using our vacuum check valve set with item number THE-B5 022 02.
  • It can happen that silicone hoses have to be shortened minimally in order to achieve a perfect fit.
  • Do not try to take the lid oft he catch can apart! It breaks when the cover is removed!
  • Please remember that these components are not permitted in the StVO.
  • The oil separator is not suitable for vehicles that have an intake manifold with push-in connections installed, for example as in the newer Audi A6 models!
  • Caution: The system must not be subjected to overpressure - this means: if the boost pressure system is tested for leaks with overpressure, the supply line to the oil separator must be closed off beforehand.
  • Since there must be no excess pressure in the crankcase, a minimum leakage of the oil separator is permissible.
